• Date of Establishment: April 26, 2019Recognizing the natural potential of sedge and the skilled hands of local artisans, the Party Committee and local government of Phu My Commune founded the Phu My Women’s Sedge Cooperative to create jobs, provide vocational training, and improve rural livelihoods.

From humble household weaving traditions, the cooperative has grown into an organized production network, supported by the Kien Giang Provincial Cooperative Alliance and partnering enterprises. Today, Phu My’s sedge products are crafted to international standards with refined quality, diverse designs, and sustainable production — generating stable income and empowering the local community.Since its establishment, the Phu My Women’s Sedge Cooperative has transformed small-scale family weaving into a thriving community enterprise. With support from the Kien Giang Provincial Cooperative Alliance and business partners, production has become more professional, stable, and market-oriented.

Our sedge products are now crafted to order with enhanced quality, refined design, and sustainable methods. The cooperative has achieved steady growth, improved local incomes, and become a model for community-driven green development in the Mekong Delta.The Phu My Women’s Sedge Cooperative trains its members to craft modern, export-oriented products, enabling households to earn a stable income of 2–3 million VND per month and improve their livelihoods.

Moving forward, the cooperative will expand business partnerships, enhance product design and quality, make effective use of natural sedge resources, and preserve the local traditional craft village.The Phu My Women’s Sedge Cooperative produces a wide range of handcrafted sedge products that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design. These eco-friendly and durable products are not only popular in the domestic market but also meet export standards.
